Windy City Sublime

Thursday, October 22, 2009 by Jason Oliver Nixon.

Dear Readers:

It has been an absolute zip-zip-zip of late—as those of you reading my Tweets can attest. First it was Bologna, Italy, for Cersaie, the international exhibition of ceramic tiles and bathroom furnishings, where I scoped the latest and greatest in Italian flooring and fittings. And from there it was on to Venice to write my feature on La Serenissima for the December issue of the magazine. And then it was on to London and now, finally, back to New York.

Into the Garden

Friday, September 18, 2009 by Jason Oliver Nixon.

Next week I am off to two very different locales: Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and Bologna, Italy. But would you expect any less from me, dear blogophiles? So Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday will see me clomping about Yellowstone National Park in hiking boots (Australian and quite on-trend, natch, with bespoke Patagonia duds) and sleeping in a tent (yes, there will be an accompanying visual as this just might be a once-in-a-lifetime activity), and Saturday I shall be ensconced at the Diana restaurant on Bologna’s Via Indipendenza lapping up the pasta in wrap-around Persol shades.

I think my obsession is two-fold:

Anglo Mania

Monday, July 13, 2009 by Jason Oliver Nixon.

Oh, how I adore London . . .

The past few days have been super spiffy: From a gorgeous picnic on the grass in the confines of Queen Mary’s gated garden within Regent’s Park (It’s amazing what you can purchase for ten pounds at Marks & Spencer’s food hall—why don’t American department stores offer glorious crab salad and Sauvignon Blanc in mid-size bottles for picnics?) to an amazing dinner at the very luxe Ritz hotel (the last time I dined here I sat just across from Maggie Thatcher, and I nearly fell into her lap on my way back from the loo).
